I'm Late!

Er....happy belated Friday?
No, not going to get away with that one am I?

I had some good news to help me through the surgery blues.  My daughter and her family are coming over next month!  Yay!!  I get to play with my gorgeous grandaughter!

So, I figured I'd better finish this quilt..which was started 3.5 years ago.

It isn't perfect but I learned a lot. It's my first properly pieced quilt and I even worked out how to attach binding strips properly. Not quite up too mitred corners but you never know!

And...I have my next project planned...can't wait to share it with you, but for now you will have to wait a little bit.  I need to get it right in my head first.

Stitching wise, I have a brand new favourite fabric dyer, Chromatic Alchemy. She very kindly overlaid my new Holmsey Design, A Little Bit of Magic on several of her fabrics for me in 'mock ups'.  What do you think?

 I love them all!

And we have a new Holmsey Hare Christmas ornament.  I saw 3 Ships, featuring of course, Bartholomew Sheep and Bob the robin!

Right, I feel the need to do a little crochet!  Have a lovely weekend everyone.

  1. The last "mock up" is my favorite. They are all so pretty.
    Your quilt is so wonderful!

  2. They are all so beautiful
    Love your quilt x

  3. I like the blue/purple fabric, but I'd rotate it 90degrees so the division was across the middle. I do love silhouette designs too.

  4. I love your quilt finish and those fabrics (along with your design) is lovely.

  5. Your quilt is lovely. As for the stitching fabric, I like the green and Jo's idea of rotating the blue and purple. So glad you have your daughter's family 's visit to look forward to.

  6. Lovely quilt finish! Way to go! Hmmm...I really like mock-up #3. Know you are thrilled with the upcoming visit from your family.

It's time to end the war on personal freedom. Prohibition never works, as the past has proven time and time again. And the demand for prostitution will never go away, hence it is the world's oldest profession. It's high time to LEGALIZE IT, both for the sake of the women who engage in prostitution and the men who buy it.

Contrary to false beliefs, the vast majority of women who engage in prostitution do so voluntarily. Therefore why should they not be allowed to legally trade sex for money? Also, legalizing prostitution would eliminate human trafficking since the very small percentage of women who are forced into prostitution would be able to go to the police for help. It would also eliminate the need for dangerous pimps.

What about STDs? Actually you are far more likely to get an STD with a regular girl since people tend to use condoms less with regular women. With prostitutes, condoms are a necessity and therefore the risk of STDs is zero. The whole STD scare has been blown way out of proportion in order to make people afraid of sex.

Studies also prove that when prostitution is legal, the number of rapes dwindles to practically zero. By keeping prostitution illegal, we are actually causing more women to be raped.

But the core issue is that we have NO RIGHT to tell two consenting adults that they cannot trade sex for money. It's time to legalize prostitution!
