Hi everyone. I hope you are all having a lovely weekend. Mine is a bit mixed. I have during my journey made some amazing friends and I have come to a conclusion. Really really crappy things seem to happen to the most wonderful people. I know mine is not to reason why but it is what I have been asking God/Universe/ Ultimate power of your choice.
In other words I have most certainly been trying to reason why. I have no answer yet..I will let you know if God/Universe/Ultimate power of your choice bothers to answer me.
So while asking the meaning of life which is quite difficult without any little white mice around (Hitchhikers Guide to the Universe), I have also been very very crafty.
After making Jack Sparrow for Deena (Parsley: he is going to have an upgrade to look a little more like Mr. Depp), I was asked to make some child friendly owls. I try to avoid making things to order (which is why Deena has had to wait months and months) because it scares me! I am crap with the sewing machine..seriously, it scares the heck out of me. And if I have to make something then it has to be of a certain standard and wow...the pressure!
But I put my big girl pants on again (they seem to keep falling off for some reason) and here are Tweedle Twitt and Tweedle Twoo.
Hope they are ok!
They are very child friendly they tell me and never eat a whole one ahoy!!!!!
I have also been perfecting my fabric baskets. Yes, I will happily make these for sponsorship donations..but as a wonderful friend told me, fabric has a life. It moves. Well my fabric is blooming organic and practically boogies and dances away in my hands! So if you are expecting complete perfection...well, I think you know where this is going!
I ran out of natural linen but experimenting with other base fabrics.
Right, well I think that is me done. I have been so busy sewing not a lot more has happened. I will offer another free chart on Friday for the Friday Feebie and have some ideas for prim charts I would like to try. Friday's is sorted out. It won't be American based but has been made for all of you who are having a hard time right now..and there seems to be a lot of us at the moment.
So I will love you and leave you and hope to share more crafty goodness with you soon. I am so dying to get one with some cross stitch! However, right now I feel a calling from my knitting needles!
Have a good week xxxxxxx
Everything is so beautiful..
ReplyDeleteBig hugs x
Gorgeous owls and lovely little fabric bowls!
ReplyDeleteHave a good week (:
Great goodies!!
ReplyDeleteYou have been busy, all this wondering is obviously good for your creative/crafting.
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to seeing what answers you come up with, I've been asking these questions for a while now, it's strange what answers pop into your mind when you least expect them. Perhaps my visit to Stonehenge and Glastonbury Tor planted some seeds in the old grey matter.
Sounds like you are pondering things that humanity has tried in vain to find the answers. So hard to see good people hurting and struggling...
ReplyDeleteI love the pirate owls and am thrilled you made one for my special order. You don't have to change anything but I know whatever you do will be wonderful.
I've used all sorts of fabric for doing baskets, so don't worry about running out of linen. Love the pirates, they look so much fun
ReplyDeleteStill in awe with your lovely owls!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful makes. My craftiness is a little 'stuck' but I've been enjoying doing some gardening ( more like attacking the jungle!)
ReplyDeleteI wonder if there will ever be an answer to your question.
Enjoy your knitting.
Carol xx
I love the pirate owls! The fabric baskets are lovely too.
ReplyDeleteLots of crappy things happen to people that don't deserve them. It isn't fair but it's the way it seems to happen.
I think you are doing a great job with the sewing machine and you are an inspiration to me as I'm terrified still of my sewing machine :)
