Stitching Retreat and Wonderful Groups

Hi there...
Well this will be a quickie before I go and de-louse the chickens.  Oh what a glamourous life I lead.

If you read my last post you will see I stayed in an amazing four star hotel/complex and I totally fell in love with the place.  It is very pricey but as with most things in life, you get what you pay for!

I chatted with the lady who is one of the owners, and guess what!  She loves stitching etc though hasn't the confidence to really do much.  Well I thought, that can be sorted.

So I e-mailed them yesterday and hoped for a bit of a bargain regarding a stitching retreat and WOW...they offered me an amazing package.

One lodge (sleeps six: two beds in three bedrooms) self-catering, free access to the leisure facilities (pool, sauna, steam room, jacuzzi type stuff) AND breakfast in the restaurant for 600 euros for three nights!

That is 100 euros per person!  And the breakfasts are amazing: fresh fruit, yogurts, full continental, cereals, full Irish (traditional fried breakfast) and other items on the  menu; egg benedict on cured ham and a potato pancake (I can personally recommend this!), kippers, porridge.  There is nothing this place will not do for you!

The retreat is for pure stitchy pampering!

Now: the first one will run from the 26th of May for three nights.  I can pick up from Knock airport.  I have a few places left so if you are interested YOU NEED TO TELL ME SOON.  Normally they take deposits with the booking but they are giving me a weeks lee way.  I need to confirm and pay on the 17th of August. Deposit is 40 euros which is non-refundable unless I manage to fill your space.

If you are interested email me on stitcheranon@yahoo.co.uk.
If your flight only comes in the day before, we have emergency accomodation available for that night for free.

You can see the very special resort here  and it really is a very special place.

I am member of two very special yahoo groups.  One is for people living in Ireland.  We started as a cross stitch group but now love to have all crafts, especially fabric crafts included in what we do.  We do mixed craft exchanges, stitching exchanges, stitch alongs, secret santas and all manner of wonderful things!

Fancy a peek and live in Ireland?  You can find us here: Emerald Isle Stitch and Craft Group.

The other group is international with members from all over the world.  Again, we began as a cross stitch group but now encompass all things crafty!
Because they are yahoo groups they are strictly moderated and addresses etc are kept safe.  No security issues unlike Face Book which is why we are staying in the loving, safe arms of Yahoo.

You can take a look at it here: Cross Stitch Monthly
We used to do monthly exchanges but now we are a bit more relaxed.  Members just put up exchanges and ideas and those who want to get involved do, and those who want to watch and adore our fantastic work do just that.

They are lovely groups and always ready to welcome new members.

Right..don't forget my giveaways on the last but one post and if you want to know more about the retreat, look at the last post and email me asap!

Happy Sunday!!!!!!

  3. What a great idea....now all I need to do is win the lottery :) LOL. I would love to go to a stitching retreat but the pocketbook is not even going to get me to Toronto.

I am sure it will be a fabulous time for all that attend!
