Happy New Year!

Hi everyone,
How was your Christmas?
Ours was small and quiet but happy.

I miss my babies in the UK, but we have an agreement. The tree stays up until they visit and we will have another Christmas until everyone of them have had a family Christmas.

As finances have shrunk, so has the pressie pile.  DH and I had a challenge: to not spend more than ten euros on each other.  I bought him some Brut aftershave, a funny (and strangely sexy) smell from our youth.  Teens in the 1980's used to drown themselves in it and it brought back some funny memories of our teenage years.

Hubby got me the film 'Love Actually' and a 1980s quiz pack of cards.  Perfect. My favourite modern film and again, back to the 80's.

It was wonderful. We had to put a lot of thought into our pressies and we enjoyed it so much we've decided to stick to it again next year.
DS got me my favourite socks...CHRISTMAS SOCKS!!!! Yay, I wear them all year around.  I had a few pairs but these are my favourite. The little santa's actually have fluffy beards!

The hilight was the meal as always.  I'm so blessed: my family don't care about the pressies but woe betide me if I short change them on the Christmas Lunch!

Organic, free range chicken, gammon, yorkshire puddings, home made bread sauce, home grown and made red cabbage, home made cranberry sauce, carrots and parsnips baked in orange and honey, roast potatoes, sprouts. swede and home made pork stuffing balls and some veggie paxo stuffing for me.  We nearly didn't have the stuffing. The only job hubby had was to remind me the stuffing was in the range oven.  He did.  Halfway though lunch.  Never mind, better late then never.

And of course finished with a christmas pudding which we set on fire as per tradition.  Highlight ..more fun setting it on fire than there is eating it lol.

Even the dogs got involved!

Workwise, I have sorted the website out for the sale which includes charts and fabric but other than that I'm going to spend a few days relaxing and knitting baby things for my new grandchild who is due in April.  I'm also ready for the changes in the VAT rules regarding digital downloads aka Vat Moss so if it's ok with you all, I'm going to have a few days off!

Have a lovely weekend and, in case I don't post before then...............
