Happy St Patrick's Day

Hi everyone.

Well, my latest visit to the hospital as per usual didn't go smoothly.  The Tamoxifen I take to stop breast cancer can cause endometrial (womb) cancer and apparently I am showing some side effects which may indicate said cancer.  Seriously: you just couldn't make it up could you!

So I have to have an appointment with a gynae guy for scans and biopsies but you know what?  I am not in the slightest bit worried.  I don't think it is anything to worry about and even it if it is has been caught incredibly early. I just think they are being super cautious and on the ball.  And there is nothing wrong with having a medical team that takes such good care of you is there!

One thing is for sure though, I am going to push for a hysterectomy!  If it isn't there then it can't go wrong can it!!!  If in doubt, get it out!  That has been my motto since university (much to my professors disgust when it came to practical work on dead things haha!)

So, I am ok with it all. Well, there isn't much I can do about it anyway, is there?

I spent all today cleaning and tidying and sorting out things for done deal and tomorrow I am going for a cup of tea with some good friends and then I am going to Kilcock (a real place, not a suggestion) to spend the night with one of them and we are going to crochet and talk fabrics and just have a break.  It gives my poor hubby a break too.  He keeps looking at me expecting me to crack but honestly, I'm not worried at all.

So I won't be around for a few days but when I'm back, I hope to have lots to show you!

And because it is nearly St Patrick's Day I have put a special offer up on my Etsy page.  We won't be taking any of the classic cars to the parades this year because they all need some work done on them but we will be watching and enjoying them, which will actually make a nice change! But just because we aren't in the parade is no excuse not to be nice and offer some Paddy's day good will is there?

So I played with my etsy page and now there is a money off offer...I am new to the world of vouchers etc so I just hope it all works!

Simply type in the code STPATRICKSDAYSPECIAL when you come to purchase your charts from my etsy page (not website: I havent worked out how to do it there) and 25 % will be taken off automatically. That is the theory any way!
I think there is a minium purchase price of ten euros but don't worry: if this works properly you know me...there will be lots more offers.  I am a bit rubbish at the business side of things but I don't care.  It is more about having fun!

So have a great St Patrick's day and hopefully I will see you all again soon xx

  1. Hmmm...not sure what to say here. You sound so positive and upbeat that 'good luck' doesn't seem to feel right. I hope everything is well for you and you will be in my thoughts and prayers anyway. Have fun with your friends :)

  4. You remind me of my Mom with your great attitude . After she was diagnosed, we were waiting for the results of her lymph node test to see if the cancer has spread. Finally, the day of the appointment to find out the results, the phone rang and it was the doctor's nurse saying they had an emergency and had to reschedule and it would be another week before we got in. She asked if my mom had any questions. My mom pleasantly said no, that's okay and hung up while I'm there waving my arms yelling "ask the nurse for the results!" Mom wasn't worried a bit. She said "it's in God's hands" and even if she worried it wouldn't change any test results. She was right. And 23 years later she's still right and still free of the cancer.

  5. After I did the research for my medicine (Femara) and saw that a side effect was ovarian or uterine cancer, I was pretty cool, calm and collected. I just thought, same as you, 'take it all... I don't need it!' You are in my prayers. Hugs!

  8. Oh no, just seen this. You really couldn't make it up. But as you say, they are being ultra cautious and at least it's a bit they can whip out if necessary. I'll remember you in my prayers. Hope you have a lovely break with your friend, it sounds like fun.
