I
don't know what to say. I have come home from picking hubby up from
the airport, already feeling emotional because of things that are going
on behind the scenes with my business (good things, wonderful things),
and I opened my emails to see that one gorgeous, amazing donor has
donated to ensure I reached my target of 500 euros for NBCRI.
From the very start I have been overwhelmed by the amazing people
donating prizes, by the amazing people donating their precious, hard
earned money to help with breast cancer research. I know times are
hard, and I know that we are all juggling and robbing Peter to pay Paul
and every single donation, large and small has been greatfully recieved.
I am also very thankful to those of you who have told me that you support other charities, or who are facing job loss etc, and who really couldn't donate, because you are just as important to the cause. You are the ones who shared my posts, made sure friends and neighbours and designers saw what I was doing and who rallied and ensured I kept going.
All together I, or rather we, have now raised 2500 euros for cancer since I was diagnosed three years ago, Once this is over and the prizes have been won, I am going to take a little break.....just a little one, because after my little break I will have a new, smaller project to help a good cause. I can't tell you what yet: it will depend on how big a break I need lol.
I have learned something amazing since I started this particular challenge. I have had no end of women donating, or pming me to tell me they are two year survivors: six year survivors: and 19 year survivors. This tells us that the research is working: the treatments are getting better, the detection rates are getting higher. We are on the right path to give this awful disease, this condition which is the most common female cancer in most countries, which will affect 1 in 8 women, the bloody great kicking it deserves.
I will update the prize numbers and make sure all the prizes are on the same page and remember, the draw begins on October the 31st xx
Thank you
