Pink, more pink and a giveaway.

Hi everyone.  Thank you so much for your comments and support and private mails.  You have been a wealth of support and inspiration over the last 6 years.  Yes, I typed right..I have been blogging since September 2008.  My original blog had a different name but I kept the same account.

So sounds to me like an anniversary!  And anniversaries have pressies, I am led to believe.  So, if you would like to enter into an anniversary draw for an item made by me and maybe some other goodies, please comment and say hi.  I will draw in a week or so.

Things are still up in the air re: my son but he is happier in himself.  It is true when they say a mother is only as happy as her unhappiest child.  The stress and worry of it all have knackered me completely so I have picked up a bug or three and as soon as I have put this post up I'm going to bed.

Pink...yes, well sorry but I have to talk about pink.  Only a few more weeks and I promise you will never hear me say anything about it again..honestly.

Firstly, a new chart.  I felt a bit delicate and very upset that I am so helpless when it comes to helping my children through this time so I was drawn to re-work a previous design and actually put some heart into it.

I needed pink.  I needed pretty.  I needed cuddles.  And I needed reminding that the trials and tribulations that we all go through are part of a bigger picture. We draw our strengths from lessons learned in the past which is what helps us to move forwards, to better, brighter times.

I needed to remind myself of what it is in life which means a life is well live.

I hope you like it.

And more pink.
As most of you may know today is National Breast Cancer Awareness day. Sadly I am all too aware of this disease as I was diagnosed with it three years ago. I was given the goal of a five year survival rate with 20 percent chance of it returning in that time. I am now almost on year three. October the 13th will ironically be my third year aniversary.

Since my diagnosis I have campaigned and fund raised for cancer charities, especially for breast cancer as so many women will be affected by this disease, and for some screening just comes too late.

The charity I am supporting is trying to develop a blood test so younger woman, those not entitled to free mammograms, can be tested, so catching the disease much earlier than it tends to be in younger women.

This blood test could mean a huge reducation in the numbers of younger breast cancer sufferers, myself being one of them, from dying as their cancers tend to found too late. This means many more mothers surviving to see their children grow up.

So far for this campaign, we have raised 342 euros of the 500 I set myself to raise. So we have until the end of the month to raise 158 euros. Wow, so near to the target!

Everyone who donates will be put into a draw for some amazing prizes, just like these in the photos which follow all of which have been donated by Angela Johnson-Philip (thank you sweety).

One euro = one number in the draw. Ten euros = ten numbers etc. You are also entitled to the Hope Needleroll chart and instructions (you have to email me so I can send it to you). Please, please, if you could donate just one euro it would be very gratefully received. Thank you.

You can donate here: http://www.mycharity.ie/event/gaynor_frenchs_event

Thank you for making these Angela.  I know these too came from the heart and I would love to win any one of these prizes (but I am not allowed to rofl)

Right, well that is me done.  Hopefully things will have picked up by Monday and my son will get some good news.  All prayers and positivity very much appreciated xxxx

Keep well and happy stitching.
