Yes, it is September, and you know what that means? Cold, wet and wind...and I'm talking about the weather, not my digestive system. However, let's look at it another way. It means slow cooker meals, Yorkshire puds and stews and lots and lots of time for stitching and crocheting and knitting and quilting. Still no time for housework, but never mind. You can win then all can you (teehee)?
Now, I have put off my special news even though you may have seen in on facebook, simply because I know who can see my posts on fb, but I have no idea who is reading the blog. Most of you have blogs and comment and say hi, but I know this is a public, public, uber public forum and anyone could be peeking. So I need to make sure everyone was happy with me sharing it before I told the whole world.
My special news is that I am going to be a grandma. My wonderful daughter has talked to all the experts along with her partner, and because she has type one Diabetes but is in what they call the 'honeymoon' period, it is just a tinier bit safer for her to start a family now rather than later. She is the very early stages of pregnancy and it is very high risk, but then we could say that about all pregnancies couldn't we? She is in good hands though she's busy throwing up a lot right now. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. It is going to be a bumpy ride I think!
Now, what else was there?
Ah yes. Maggee, an amazing lady and friend gifted me some fabric a while back for the fund raising (Stitching Devotee). I have made some items for the prize pile and I will be adding more but I won't get time to use it all so I have made up a couple of prize packages with the fabric which is GORGEOUS and it will break my heart to let it go but at least it will go to a good home! Maggee is having a real hard time at the moment as her hubby has had major surgery. Please can you direct some prayers and positive thoughts her way.
I think the American fabric came from Deena (Is that right Deena??)
And as it was for fund raising as well, I figured it too could go to a good home. So three prizes.
AND Elaine (Lanyblue) made two of the cutest pincushions ever and sent them to me to add to the prize pile.
They are so cute and well made. Thank you Elaine!
I've got it all organised now. This is a fund raiser with a difference. For every single euro you donate, you will have one entry into a prize draw. If your number/name is drawn, you will get to choose your prize, and then the next person drawn can chose from what is left and so on. I know these are hard times so that is actually all I am asking for. One euro! If you donate more then you will have more names in the draw: ten euros = ten names in the pot. And the draw will start on October the 31st!
All the prizes are donated and have a crafting theme. You can donate through my Just Give Page I ask that all donations be put through this page as it saves me time and it is all transparent. Everyone can see what has been raised and so far it is 85.00 Euros! Thank you for donating! I am thrilled.
Ok: what have I been up to? Well, I've a fair bit of finishing to do as you can see.
And little Miss Maid for All Seasons-Autumn is finished and up for sale on my etsy shop and website.
Yes, Fergus and Holmsey photobombed it! They are so naughty but they have to really to make me get my ass into gear and sort out the next Fergus and Holmsey Hare chart.
Hint taken you guys! The photos don't really show the vibrancy of the reds, golds and oranges, so you will have to take my word for it that it shows all the gorgeous colours we associate with Autumn. Look up DMC 3826, 900, 3852 and 3777 for some examples of the colours I used.
I've done a little more on my Halloween SAL and I'm organising a quick and easy free Christmas SAL: a needleroll design though of course you could finish however you like...oh and so many new chart ideas, my head is fairly buzzing!
Thank you all for your kind comments re: Debby's passing. I know so many of us knew her, many of you far better than I and it has affected our online community strongly. I know wherever she is she is still smiling and laughing and def. still stitching.
And there I will leave you. Have a great week everyone xx
